As we enter in this season in which we remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for you and me, let us renew our commitment to the Savior and His work. Think about the resolve that Jesus demonstrated as He purposed in His heart to go to Jerusalem. He knew that his earthly ministry would climax at the Cross of Calvary. He committed to doing it.
In order for us to focus on Jesus, some make sacrifices that bring to mind the price that He paid to redeem us. Some call this season lent, others recognize that we are approaching Holy Week, Good Friday, and Resurrection Sunday. Will you join me in this season by committing to seek His face, pursue Him with passion, Grow in knowledge of Him, and do His will in the earth?
Don’t let your situation and circumstances prevent you from a deeper faith, a deeper relationship, and a deeper commitment. Set aside some things, set aside some time, and take up the cross of Calvary. Hebrews says it most eloquently, “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, to looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2
